ABOUT

Who I am

I'm Tajammal Maqbool, a software engineer who builds web applications and games. I've been shipping software since 2020, working across the stack with React, Next.js and Node.js, and building games with Unity, Phaser.js and Three.js.

ReactionBench is where those two sides meet: a precise measurement tool with the feel of a game. I build and maintain the site, and I review every test and article for accuracy before it goes live.

WHY REACTIONBENCH

Why I built it

Most reaction-time sites hand you a number with no hint of how it was measured. As a developer, that bothered me — timing in the browser is genuinely hard, and pretending otherwise produces numbers that don't mean anything.

So ReactionBench times to the painted frame, states the hardware latency it can't remove, and reports a median instead of your luckiest tap. Every statistic on the site is backed by a cited source, and I check the methodology myself.

A COMPLAINT OR CORRECTION?

Spotted something wrong?

If a fact looks off, a test is broken, or you have a copyright concern, I want to hear about it — every complaint reaches me directly. Here's how to raise one, including the copyright and DMCA process.

Questions

Frequently asked

Who writes and reviews the content on ReactionBench?
I do. I build and maintain the site, and I review every test and article for accuracy before it's published. If something reads as if no human checked it, that's a bug — please tell me.
Is ReactionBench a solo project?
Yes. ReactionBench is an independent project that I build and run myself. Where the site says "we," it's shorthand for the project, not a large team.
How do you keep the tests and numbers accurate?
Timing is measured to the painted frame with a sub-millisecond clock, scores use the median of several rounds, and every percentile or baseline on the site is backed by a cited source. The full method is on the methodology page.
How can I reach you?
Use the contact page for questions and feedback, or the complaints page to report an error or a copyright concern. You can also find me on my personal site, GitHub, LinkedIn and Upwork.
