ReactionBench exists to answer one simple question — how fast are you? — free of the guesswork, the sign-up walls, and the inflated numbers that plague most reaction-time sites. The tests we build are precise and transparent, treating your milliseconds as real measurements, and we tell you exactly how they're taken.
This is a small, independent project built by people who care about two things in equal measure: rigorous measurement and a genuinely fun experience. What comes out of that is a serious benchmarking tool that still feels like a game the second you press start.
Most reaction tests won't show their work
Visit a typical reaction-time site and what you get is a number with no context: nothing on how it was timed, no acknowledgement of the delay your screen and mouse contribute, and often a "world record" leaderboard stuffed with impossible sub-100 ms scores. Fun for a moment, but it doesn't mean much.
We wanted the reverse — a place with a public method, plainly stated limitations, and a score you can genuinely trust and track. Which is why every test reports a median of several rounds, flags false starts, and links straight to a methodology page that spells out exactly how the clock works.

Start a test, though, and it turns into a focused, gamified experience of signal lights, sounds, grades, penalties and drama. Finish, and what you're handed is clean statistics — median, best, consistency, percentile — rather than a cartoon achievement. That split, a credible benchmark that's genuinely enjoyable to use, is the whole idea.
